Eatons Hill Presbyterian Church was officially launched on Sunday 4 February, 2007.  EHPC came about because of a small group of people with a vision to plant a new gospel work in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. On that very first Sunday together, our stated goal was ‘growing followers of Jesus’. We can say, prayerfully depending on God, that remains our goal today.

Back in 2007, Mitchelton Presbyterian Church was our sending church and we’re thankful to God for their support and prayer in those early years.

From our inception, we’ve always met at Eatons Hill State School and we’ve continued to enjoy great support from the teachers and staff. We hope our partnership will continue for many years to come. Working bees, staff morning teas and support to the RE program and school SUPA club are just some of the ways we want to build good connections with the school and be of service to our local community.

For the first four years our Sunday gatherings were held in a small classroom at the school but in September 2011 we moved to the newly built Community Hall. This building has given us much needed space for our growing church, as well as better facilities.

As a church, we can trace our roots back to how we began back in 2007 but our history goes back much further than that. As a protestant church our heritage is that of the great theological ‘rediscoveries’ that came out of the reformation of the 15th and 16th centuries.  We are firmly of the reformation tradition which has five convictions which direct our life and practice: ‘Scripture Alone’, ‘Grace Alone’, ‘Faith Alone’, ‘Christ Alone’ and ‘Glory to God Alone’.

We’re thankful for our history but it’s to the future where we look to keep doing the ministry of growing followers of Jesus.  We’re a contemporary church which wants to connect to our culture and be a serving presence within our community. In all this we want to uphold the timeless truths of the Bible, but present the gospel of Jesus in a timely manner, so that more and more people might come to know Jesus as their Saviour, Lord and King.
